E. D. Morin
E.D. (Elaine) Morin writes, edits and makes books in her home province of Alberta. Her works have been published in a range of magazines and anthologies including Fiction Southeast, The Antigonish Review, Wascana Review, Alternatives Journal, Alberta Views and Freefall, and has been produced for broadcast on CBC radio. A past winner of the Brenda Strathern Writing Prize, she has also been shortlisted for The Malahat Review Open Season Award and the Impress Prize (Exeter, UK). Her first book, Castrations Lessons, was birthed as a limited-run short story chapbook.Writing Menopause: An Anthology of Fiction, Poetry and Creative Nonfiction, a literary anthology E. D. co-edited with Jane Cawthorne, was published by Inanna Publications in spring 2017.
For the past eight seasons, E. D. has helped direct the popular Calgary reading series Writing in the Works. She has taught creative writing at York University, the Alexandra Writers’ Centre and in Calgary public schools. When she isn’t editing or writing or yakking about books, she can usually be found running around outside, whipping up weird phrases in her head.
